Via Alpina(ish)

The Via Alpina is a very long series of hikes that runs from Slovenia right the way across the alps to end in Monaco. We did the ‘middle-third’ part of the Swiss leg of it, from Altdorf to Kandersteg. Unlike previous longer hikes we’ve done, this one was a mish-mash of taking buses, trains, cable cars etc. as needed. There is a lot of pointless road walking or climbing up and down through forest, and in the interest of time, and in order to be able to enjoy the nicer parts, this hike was done luxury-style. We stopped off for an entire day in Murren, indulging in the spa and finding time to do the Via Ferrata there again.
